Struggling Butterfly

A man found a cocoon of a butterfly. One day a small opening appeared. He sat and watched the butterfly for several hours as it struggled to force its body through that little hole. Then it seemed to stop making any progress. It appeared as if it had gotten as far as it could, and it could go no further.

So the man decided to help the butterfly. He took a pair of scissors and snipped off the remaining bit of the cocoon.

The butterfly then emerged easily. But it had a swollen body and small, shriveled wings.
The man continued to watch the butterfly because he expected that, at any moment, the wings would enlarge and expand to be able to support the body, which would contract in time.

Neither happened! In fact, the butterfly spent the rest of its life crawling around with a swollen body and shriveled wings. It never was able to fly.

What the man, in his kindness and haste, did not understand was that the restricting cocoon and the struggle required for the butterfly to get through the tiny opening were God’s way of forcing fluid from the body of the butterfly into its wings so that it would be ready for flight once it achieved its freedom from the cocoon.

Sometimes struggles are exactly what we need in our lives. If we go through our lives without any obstacles, it would cripple us. We would not be as strong as what we could have been. We could never fly!

Its been a long while

It has been a long while since I last blogged. I'm sorry guys, I was really busy and was dealing with some personal matters. I shouldn't have let my emotions take control of me, but I just can't help it. I can't help feeling sad and depressed, I guess, its all bits and pieces of life.

I was told to make a tough decision one week ago. A decision that might change my life, perhaps not that serious, perhaps a change in my career then? :) To be frank, I couldn't even think properly after I was told to make my choice, let alone, decide.

Mummy, daddy and everyone that was close to me were all worrying about me. I felt so bad, real bad to make them worried. Mummy even took the trouble to spend hours of her time to concern about me, and trying to make me feel happier. Indeed, I did cheer up, with all the supports I've gotten by my friends. Thanks guys.

There's always a saying in Chinese, 家家有本难念的经/ 每个人都有一个不能说的秘密。 Each and everyone of us has this innermost secret which cannot be shared. I just don't know how to start, and I can't even share it out, the feeling is just so miserable. Oh well, that's life.

I've not been getting ample sleep. I've been sleeping merely few hours per day and I've got plenty of pending things to do, but somehow, its impossible for me to keep my mind clear, and get my butts moving. I just cant find any motivation!!!! 

But whatever it is, I'm slightly better now. All thanks to a good friend of mine who is there to cheer me up, and trying his best to help me. His effort is finally paid off, he knows the story and gave me some advices. Somehow, I feel much better now. Thank you, my friend. You know who you are! Thanks for spending so much time and effort to cheer me up, and gave up your rest time just to sound me out. You did a great job! Ha! 

And to the rest, thanks. I will be alright soon! Give me sometime! Give me some time to decide what I want, give me some time to decide the route that I want to walk. I hope I won't regret by the decision that I've make then. :)

Dear Mom and Dad,

I died today. You got tired of me and took me to the shelter. They were overcrowded and I drew an unlucky number. I am in a black plastic bag in a landfill now. Some other puppy will get the barely used leash you left. My collar was dirty and too small, but the lady took it off before she sent me to the Rainbow Bridge .

Would I still be at home if I hadn't chewed your shoe? I didn't know what it was, but it was leather, and it was on the floor. I was just playing. You forgot to get puppy toys.

Would I still be at home if I had been housebroken? Rubbing my nose in what I did only made me ashamed that I had to go at all. There are books and obedience teachers that would have taught you how to teach me to go to the door.

Would I still be at home if I hadn't brought fleas into the house? Without anti-flea medicine, I couldn't get them off of me after you left me in the yard for days.

Would I still be at home if I hadn't barked? I was only saying, "I'm scared, I'm lonely, I'm here, I'm here! I want to be your best friend."

Would I still be at home if I had made you happy? Hitting me didn't make me learn how.

Would I still be at home if you had taken the time to care for me and to teach manners to me? You didn't pay attention to me after the first week or so, but I spent all my time waiting for you to love me.

I died today.

I guess, all of us shouldn't be so selfish and self-centered. We do, need to step out of the box at times to fully comprehend the problem and such. Every single things happened for a reason. Find out the exact reason behind it before you make your assumption. Do stand in other people' shoes and think in their position, and perhaps, it might change your perspective on things.


Alright, I got to admit that I'm rather listless, restless and emotional these few days for no reason. I will be fine soon. I hope?
